Inspiration
The inspiration for these prizes is the immortal James Boswell, who was born in Edinburgh on 29 October 1740 and died in London on 19 May 1795. Boswell was a Scottish biographer, diarist, and lawyer who was best known for his biography of the English writer Samuel Johnson, Life of Samuel Johnson, which is often said to be the greatest biography written in the English language.
Organiser
The organiser of the James Boswell Prizes is Malcolm Turner, a writer, dramatist, and the founder of Upper Octave Publishing. Over more than thirty years, as President of the World leadership Forum, he organised many high-profile events including the World Leadership Awards and the Policy Maker of the Year Awards.
